As a highly anticipated event in Cyprus, the Wine Festival takes place annually in the coastal city of Limassol.  It is Cyprus’ longest running festival in modern times and is a celebration of the island’s history as well as Limassol’s ties to the traditional customs of winemaking, vinegrowing and trading since 1961.

The 64th edition to be celebrated in 2025 from 27th of September, is a testament to its appeal as a local event in nature, yet serves as an attraction to thousands of visitors from all over the world. It remains a unique opportunity to taste and experience the local culture and hospitality.

The festival takes place over the course of nine days, during which visitors can enjoy a variety of activities and events. These include wine tastings, live music performances, traditional dance shows, and local food stalls. The festival is held in the heart of Limassol, in the beautiful Municipal Gardens, which provide the perfect backdrop for this celebration of wine and culture. Visitors can wander through the gardens, sampling wines from different producers and enjoying the lively atmosphere of the festival.

The Limassol Wine Festival is programmed from Saturday 27th of September until Sunday 5th of October 2025.

Opening hours: are from 19.00 hrs to  23:59 hrs every evening.
Wine Tastings:  are available from 19:30 hrs until 22:00 hrs

The Late Summer Wine Festival in Limassol is a must-visit event offering everyone a chance to experience the Greek tradition of Dionysian feasting while promoting communal enjoyment “Drink wine, have life”.

As a remedy to life’s daily worries for better living, the festival offers visitors the opportunity to taste a wide variety of wines from different wineries across Cyprus. From dry whites to sweet reds, Commandaria and Zivania, there is something for every palate. The festival also offers the chance to purchase wines directly from the wineries. This allows visitors to take home some of their favorite wines and share them with friends and family.

Here are some of the festival highlights:

  • Wine Tasting: The wine tastings are themselves an opportunity to be familiar with the winemaking in Cyprus. Visitors can attend workshops and seminars on wine tasting and production accompanied by knowledgeable sommeliers, winemakers or winery personel. Wine glasses are available for purchase for the tastings.
  • Food Pairing: In addition to wine tasting, the festival also features a variety of food stalls offering traditional Cypriot cuisine. Visitors can enjoy local dishes such as souvlaki, halloumi cheese, and loukoumades while sipping on their favorite wine.
  • Live Music, Dance and Performances: The festival is not just about wine and food. It also features live music performances by local artists. Visitors can enjoy a variety of genres, from traditional Cypriot music to contemporary pop.
  • Grape Stomping: One of the festival’s most popular attractions is the grape stomping activity. Visitors can take off their shoes and stomp on grapes just like in the old days. It’s a fun and interactive way to experience the winemaking process.

The festival is located at the Limassol Municipal Gardens, which is easily accessible by car, bus, or taxi. Visitors can park their vehicles in the designated parking areas near the festival venue. It is recommended to arrive early to avoid parking difficulties.
