Fancy some Cyprus sunlight for New York palates
Anama Concept wine for a taste at the Summer Fancy Foods Show.
A few vintages of age-old Commandaria have been vinified since that cool summer in New York at the Fancy Foods Gastonomical event.
Nothing like the first foray for Anama Concept into the international scene with their precious range of small artesanal wine batches of sweet delightful wines. As true contemporary ambassadors of Cyprus Wine, Gastronomic New York couldn’t be a more welcoming space for Kristina and Lefteris.
Anama is the first contemporary wine concept to emerge in Cyprus based on the foundations of the oldest recorded wine in the world, Kyprion Nama. A naturally sweet wine aged made from sundried grapes at altitude vineyards of the Commandaria Appellation.
The Anama Vintage 2010
Bush vine grape varieties Mavro & Xynisteri compose the 120-year-old single ungrafted vineyard. Situated in Zoopigi, at an altitude of 1100m, our family’s first generation cultivates the vines, inspired by the old traditional wine making process, originally mastered on the island over 5000 years ago.
